The dollar was firmer in N.Y. trade on Friday, taking the USD index to seven session highs of 95.18. EUR-USD opened near 1.1270, making its way slowly to lows of 1.1219 after the London close. USD-JPY continued to power higher, touching 111.74 after starting out near 110.85. UD-CA slipped early on better U.S. retail sales and hotter CPI data, touching 1.2624 lows, before oil prices slipped, taking the pairing back over 1.2715. Cable meanwhile, meandered on either side of 1.4400 in light dealings.
