The dollar was mixed in N.Y. trade on Tuesday, flattish versus the euro, after making near five-month highs in London, and posting modest gains against the yen on the back of a risk-on trading session. EUR-USD ranged between 1.1409 at the open, and 1.1345 before recovering over 1.1380, as USD-JPY topped 108.75 from lows of 108.22. WTI crude raced over $42/bbl to 2016 highs, taking USD-CAD to nine-month lows of 1.2763, as cable gave back London gains near 1.4350, dropping back under 1.4200. The dollar lost modest ground on softer U.S. import prices, though reaction was limited.
