XE Market Analysis: Asia - Mar 03, 2016

The dollar was mostly lower in N.Y. trade on Thursday, perhaps as positions were squared up ahead of Friday's key U.S. jobs report. Incoming data was mixed, with Q4 productivity revised higher, but still weak, as jobless claims rose a bit more than forecast. Oil prices remained firm, with WTI briefly posting new two-month highs of $34.30. This weighed on USD-CAD through the session, though did little to support Wall Street, which stuck to near flat through the session. EUR-USD opened near 1.0890 and made its way to highs over 1.0970, as cable posted nearly two-week high of 1.4190 on U.K.
