The FX market was quiet in N.Y. on Monday, with narrow ranges the rule. Aside from softer U.S. existing home sale data, which temporarily dented sentiment, the greenback was mostly higher. Wall Street traversed either side of flat through the day, while Treasury yields were flat to slightly firmer, EUR-USD edged lower from 1.1280 highs, trading under 1.1240 in light afternoon dealings. USD-JPY topped at 111.86 early on, before settling in near 111.75. USD-CAD managed 130.35 to 1.3088, with oil prices continuing to drag that pairing around.
