XE Market Analysis: Asia - May 16, 2016

The N.Y. FX session was very quiet on Monday to start the week, and the dollar was mixed inside of relatively narrow trading ranges. A softer Empire State index had little impact, as Wall Street rallied on trend high oil prices, and Berkshire's billion dollar investment in Apple. Yields edged up with stocks. EUR-USD was stuck inside of a 25 point trading range, topping at 1.1342, as USD-JPY made its way from 108.75 to over 109.05. USD-CAD traded under 1.2900 as oil prices peaked over $47.80, though downside was likely hampered by Canada's sharp oil production outages due to wildfires.
