The dollar was choppy in N.Y. trade on Wednesday, though mostly lower by the time the close came around. Another oil price meltdown, and global growth/earnings concerns sent U.S. equities reeling, which weighed on the greenback late in the session. EUR-USD opened at 1.0820 and traded to highs of 1.0878 into the close. USD-JPY meanwhile, chopped around between 118.00 and 118.40 before succumbing to selling pressure, taking it to 117.79 lows. USD-CAD was again lifted to trend highs of 1.4379 by oil price weakness, seeing WTI crude base at $30.11, while Brent dipped briefly under $30.
