The dollar was mostly firmer through the morning session in N.Y. on Tuesday, though Wall Street was once again hit by commodity sell-off, which ultimately weighed on the dollar after the London close. WTI crude traded under the $30/bbl mark for the first time since December of 2003, taking USD-CAD to new 12-year highs of 1.4315. EUR-USD faded from 1.0860 at the open to 1.0820, before running up to 1.0876 highs into the close. Buy stops featured on the move over 60. USD-JPY peaked at 118.07, though as Wall Street faded, it slipped into 117.44 lows.
