LOS ANGELES — Clutching her Golden Globe statuette after winning for her role in The Honourable Woman last month, Maggie Gyllenhaal devoted some of her acceptance speech to the "wealth of roles for actual women in television and in film," not just "powerful women"
Mashable caught up with Gyllenhaal last week to find out who is on her list of current favorite female characters on the small and big screen
"I love Frances McDormand in Olive Kitteridge. I think Ruth Wilson [in The Affair] is great. I love Laura Dern in Enlightened, even though it's not on anymore. I think Lena Dunham [in Girls] is great," Gyllenhaal said. "Marion Cotillard in Two Days, One Night, I thought she was amazing. I loved all the women in Birdman and Patricia Arquette [in Boyhood].
