Dozens dead after airstrikes on camp for displaced Yemenis

An airstrike on a displaced persons camp in Yemen has left at least 29 people dead and dozens wounded, including women and children, according to aid groups working in the area


Al Mazraq camp for internally displaced people (IDPs) in the Hajj governorate, near the border town of Haradh in western Yemen, houses around 5,000 people who have fled other areas of insecurity.



A Saudi-led coalition is targeting Shiite rebels and their allies in Yemen in a campaign of airstrikes that began last week


A spokesperson for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) told Mashable, "At least 34 people wounded in the attack were brought by ambulance to the MSF-supported hospital in the town of Haradh. An additional 29 people were dead on arrival, among them women and children. According to witnesses, the airstrike may have caused a larger number of wounded." Read more...
