Paramedics rushed Leonard Nimoy to the hospital last Thursday, after the 83 year-old actor experienced such horrible chest pains that it forced him to call 911.
Leonard Nimoy has a chronic lung disease called COPD, which he announced last year.
He's been hospitalized a number of times in the last few months, but this is the first time he's had an emergency like this.
Nimoy quit smoking over 30 years ago, but still blames his condition on cigarettes. He tweeted shortly after his COPD diagnosis:
"Smokers, please understand. If you quit after you're diagnosed with lung damage it's too late. Grandpa says learn my lesson. Quit now. LLAP."
LLAP stands for "live long and prosper", Mr. Spock's famous sign-off line.
His good friend George Takei mentioned Nimoy in a Facebook post on Monday, and millions of well-wishes and get-well sentiments poured in.
Leonard Nimoy was part of the original Star Trek cast in the 1960's, then appeared in a number of Star Trek movies. He was still portraying a version of the character in Star Trek Into Darkness, released in 2013.
He's one of those icons that will live on forever. Sure Zachary Quinto gets naked on instagram and everybody flips out, but Leonard Nimoy's the original.
He was telling captain Kirk to "be logical" (Vulcan for STFU, Shatner) 20 years before his predecessor was even born.
