Lara Logan Hospitalized For Internal Bleeding: Report

CBS News' Lara Logan was rushed to a D.C. hospital this week, having reportedly suffered from internal bleeding and the digestive disease diverticulitis.

The 43-year-old 60 Minutes reporter was taken to the hospital on Wednesday and is expected to remain under observation for at least a few more days.

A spokesperson for 60 Minutes had no comment on the specifics of Logan's condition, but said of the journalist, "We wish Lara a very speedy recovery."

This is not Logan's first scare in recent years.

In 2011, Lara Logan was sexually assaulted and beaten by a mob in Cairo, Egypt, while reporting on the violent Arab Spring uprising for 60 Minutes.

Then last fall, the D.C. native was quarantined in a South African hotel after reporting from inside a Liberian hospital that was treating Ebola patients.

Logan's hospitalization comes several weeks after CBS lost a veteran 60 Minutes correspondent. Bob Simon died tragically in a car crash on February 11.

Here's hoping Laura recovers fully and swiftly.
