16 high-school students and 2 teachers were on Germanwings flight

Sixteen German students and two teachers were on board the Germanwings flight that crashed en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf on Tuesday, said a German official.


"This is the darkest day in the history of our city," said Bodo Klimpel, who is the mayor of Haltern, Germany, where the students went to school



The teachers and group of tenth graders from Joseph-König-Gymnasium in Haltern were returning from an exchange program in Llinars del Vallès, Spain, near Barcelona. The Germanwings passenger jet was carrying 150 people when crashed it in the French Alps on Tuesday. Officials expect no survivors. Read more...
