But then things take a turn for the worse, or at least the awkward ...

The second installment of the spring, Teen Mom Season 11 Episode 2 is titled "Back to School." Ostensibly, the kids are the ones getting educated.
Amber is the recipient of a hard life lesson herself, though, after Gary's girlfriend (with whom he is expecting a child) Kristina Anderson arrives as well.
You could pretty much cut the tension with a knife at that point.
While she's cherishing every moment of her freedom following an 17-month prison sentence, the downside for Portwood is adjusting to major changes.
A year and a half is a long time, and not only did being locked up change Amber a great deal, but a heck of a lot happened since she was incarcerated.
Not only is Leah so much older now, but ... Kristina happened.
Fortunately, what you see when you watch Teen Mom online this week isn't a reflection of how things are going now. Amber has accepted Kristina.
Or at least things are trending that way, rather than the reverse.
"We're co-parenting the best we can," Amber said of life after prison. "It's not perfect and he still gets on my nerves, but we're happy with the people we're with."
That's a good thing, and we hope it continues, because fans who have been with the show since the beginning know she's better off moving on.
Even the good times for these two weren't exactly good ...
