Twitter made a small but significant update to its terms of service and privacy policy on Friday, noting that all users outside the U.S. will have their account information processed at Twitter's subsidiary in Ireland starting next month
Until now, all data for Twitter users had been handled out of the U.S., where the company is based
Twitter's move comes as the European Union readies an extensive update to its data privacy laws, which are spelled out in the European Data Protection Directive.
