If you watch Mob Wives on VH1, then you know that Big Ang is as well-known for her raspy voice as for her brash demeanor.
Unfortunately, it seems that husky voice may be caused by some serious health issues, as TMZ is reporting that doctors found a tumor in Big Ang's throat that's roughly the size of a lemon.
Ang - real name Angela Raiola - has reportedly been admitted to an Staten Island hospital where she will have surgery to have the lump removed.
Doctors do not yet know if the tumor is cancerous.
Ang is a heavy smoker, but doctors are reportedly optimistic about her chances for a full recovery.
One encouraging sign is that Ang doesn't seem to have been slowed down by her health.
The reality star has been spotted out and about in NYC several times during the past few weeks. While her neck was covered up by a scarf, witnesses say she did not appear to be in any pain.
Sources say Ang will soon begin filming a Mob Wives spinoff series, and no production delays have been announced as of yet.
