Suing an employer for discrimination is agonizing, so why does anyone do it?

Ellen-pao-lawsuit

Suing an employer for discrimination is a treacherous course, often drawn out and invasive — just ask Ellen Pao

Now the interim CEO of Reddit, Pao sued her former employer, the venture capital firm Kleiner, Perkins Caufield & Byers, for gender discrimination and retaliation in a trial that concluded last week

Rihanna Denies Dating Leonardo DiCaprio: Ain't Nobody Got Time for That!

It's been almost four months since we first learned that Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio hooked up during a party at the Playboy Mansion.

From there, a bumper crop of rumors emerged, ranging from the believable (Rihanna had a crush on Leo when she was a teenager.) to the sublimely ridiculous. (RIHANNA IS PREGNANT WITH LEO'S BABY!!! ZOMG!!!)

RiRi made the press rounds last week to promote her new kids' flick, Home, and naturally some random tabloid reporter broached the subject in the most absurd fashion imaginable. ("How does Rihanna DiCaprio sound to you?")

Ri being Ri, she shut that sh-t down with a quickness and put the Rihannardo rumors to rest once and for all.

"It sounds like you should stay away from the blogs because they will screw you every time," Rihanna told the reporter. (We're sure she meant to add, "Except for The Hollywood Gossip, of course!")

"I'm so busy right now that I just don't have a lot of time to offer a man, so it wouldn't even be fair to be thinking of pulling someone into this life.

"But if I did, he would have to be man enough to not be scared."

There you have it, Leo. You may have King of the World in the '90s, but there's a good chance you're just not man enough to hand with RiRi.

Amazon's strange new Dash Button for impulse-ordering: 'Indeed, it is real'

Amazon-button

For a few minutes on Tuesday, it seemed like Amazon might actually have a sense of humor.

The online shopping giant announced a new hardware product called the Dash Button. It's a little hook, decorated with the name of a household brand, which customers can place on the wall and tap to automatically order (or more likely re-order) a specific product.

This may seem, to some, to be an excess of convenience. Few people have complained, as of yet, about the laborious walk to a laptop where they have to sweat and agonize over Amazon's "one-click" shopping button. But for those weary souls who are tired of having to pull out a smartphone and go through the motions to order more Tide detergent, the cavalry has come Read more...
