Darren Sharper Cops Plea Deal, Receives Lenient Sentence in Four-State Sexual Assault Case

Former NFL star Darren Sharper has reportedly agreed to a plea bargain that will mitigate his time in prison for sexual assault to a maximum of eight years.

It's still hard time for a man who was once one of the hardest safeties in the league, but he could have faced a life sentence if convicted in this case.

Effective immediately, Sharper will serve a maximum of eight years in prison for allegedly attempting to sexually assault two girls in Nevada, reports TMZ.

He agreed to these terms as part of a global plea agreement in Nevada, Arizona, California and Louisiana, where he was charged with various crimes.

Sharper's sentence will run concurrently with the other sentences, so the eight years he'll serve is the maximum total, and he could do even less.

At minimum, he will be a prisoner for 38 months, or just over three years.

An Arizona judge is gearing up to announce the plea details in that state, and later this morning, a California judge is expected to do the same there.

The Louisiana component is not expected to be announced until tomorrow, but it is widely believed that it will fall in line with Sharper's Nevada deal.

In any event, Sharper, who was famously told to hold Marshawn Lynch's d--k by the insane narrator of this piece of YouTube gold, is off to the slammer.

Where, perhaps fittingly, he will try to avoid that very same fate.

Marshawn Lynch DETERMINATION: Hold My D--k Darren Sharper!

Sorry, there's just no way we could pass up another chance to run that video, and not just because it's one of the sickest NFL runs in recent memory.

And don't worry, Darren. You'll have plenty of famous company:
